Letter #1: New Blog. New Website. Same Me.

Dear Old Friend,

It’s been a long time, shouldn’t have left you without a dope beat to step to…. Am I the only one that thinks in song? I have a song for every word I swear!

Anyway, it’s been some time since I’ve written a post, or anything at all for that matter.  The real world doesn’t have summer vacation, so I decided to creative one of my own.  My summer break consisted of long work weeks, moving into a new apartment (complete with new roommate and new bougie amenities), flying home to surprise my family, having strep throat for a month, making lists with aspirations and goals, and then ultimately tucking that list in the seat cushion as I watched yet another episode of Love Island UK.  Eventful and not eventful at the same time.  But now, with the first day of fall behind us and Libra season upon us, I feel a since of rejuvenation, passion, and perspective that has brought me back to the keyboard.

This past year blogging was about holding myself accountable to writing furiously and frequently on this quest to find my voice and hone in on what it is I want to write about.  I’ve always had very Carrie Bradshaw-esque dreams, so this challenge was about me creating an outlet for my voice and vision.  Now, that vision has grown up and has become more focused. I’m still pushing myself to write consistently, but I’ll be posting less in order to: 1) explore more avenues in my writing and 2) make sure that I’m always producing quality over quantity.

The present year is about living my mid-twenties to the fullest, trying new styles, taking new risks, working hard and playing harder.

If you’re reading this, there’s something I want you to try to do with me.  Let’s work on manifesting the goodness that we want to happen in our lives.  I don’t just mean general good energy but let’s be specific this season.  We’re going to speak our specific goals out loud and be active about bringing them into fruition. (Read more about speaking “it” into existence here.)

I’ve got a good feeling about this season, friend.

As always thank you for the honor of your time. Subscribe down below (at the very bottom of the page) and let’s see what this year has in store for us!

Yours truly,

Maya G
